BBC Little Painting Challenge

Well done to North Shields Art Society member, Sharon Douglas, whose entry for the BBC's Little Painting Challenge is now on display in the Whitworth Art Gallery, Manchester.

To complement the recent Big Painting Challenge series, BBC Learning launched The Little Painting Challenge, a UK-wide competition to encourage anyone and everyone to have a go. Participants were invited to simply create an artwork on a postcard – and thousands of people took up the challenge. 

Sharon's postcard-sized artwork is now part of an exhibition showcasing the best entries ,including the winners, which has been installed in The Whitworth's newly refurbished Grand Hall. 



The Little Painting Challenge exhibition at The Whitworth runs until 22 May 2015.

If you'd like to see more of Sharon's work then she will be exhibiting alongside NSAS member Jean Coldwell at this year's Alnmouth Arts Festival on June 20th and 21st 2015.
